RESUMO

With the development of deep learning technology, researchers are increasingly paying attention to how to efficiently salvage surface garbage. Since the 1980s, the development of plastic products and economic growth has led to the accumulation of a large amount of garbage in rivers. Due to the large amount of garbage and the high risk of surface operations, the efficiency of manual garbage retrieval will be greatly reduced. Among existing methods, using YOLO algorithm to detect target objects is the most popular. Compared to traditional detection algorithms, YOLO algorithm not only has higher accuracy, but also is more lightweight. This article presents a lightweight YOLOv5 water surface garbage detection algorithm suitable for deployment on unmanned ships. This article has been validated on the Orca dataset, experimental results showed that the detection speed of the improved YOLOv5 increased by 4.3%, mAP value reached 84.9%, precision reached 88.7%, the parameter quantity only accounts for 12% of the original data. Compared with the original algorithm, the improved algorithm not only has higher accuracy, but also can be applied to more hardware devices due to its lighter weight.

RESUMO

To compare and assess the choroidal and retinal microstructural vascularity in amblyopic eyes with the fellow eyes in anisometropic amblyopic children using angiography optical coherence tomography (Angio-OCT). Twenty-seven children (54 eyes; 5.59 ± 1.08 years old; 59.3% girls) were enrolled in this study. Choroidal thickness (CT) was measured with the use of the enhanced depth imaging mode in Angio-OCT. Parafoveal/peripapillary vascular density indices and the foveal avascular zone (FAZ) size were analyzed by MATLAB code programming on Angio-OCT images. The mean FAZ size of the amblyopic eyes were larger both in superficial and deep capillary plexus layer (SCPL/DCPL). Compared with the contralateral eyes (BCVA were normal), all the vascular density indices of SCPL and DCPL in the parafoveal and peripapillary zones were lower in the amblyopic eyes, however, the difference was insignificant (p > 0.05). No significant decrease was observed in four quadrants analyses of the amblyopic eyes (p > 0.05). Except for the measurement at 2000 µm and 1500 µm from the fovea in temple, CT in amblyopic eyes were significantly thicken than the fellow eyes (p < 0.05). Compared with the fellow eyes, the CT of certain areas were thicker in the amblyopic eyes. Though the FAZ size of the amblyopic eyes was larger in SCPL/DCPL layers, the retinal vascular density indices in SCPL/DCPL were lower in amblyopia eyes without statistical difference. Angio-OCT may be an effective way to evaluate the status of the choroidal and retinal vascular system in amblyopic children.

RESUMO

Clinical Relevance: A vergence formula may provide a simple and reliable calculation of the refractive status of aphakic eyes. Background: Measuring the refractive error of pediatric eyes with aphakia is difficult. This study investigated the accuracy and applicability of a vergence formula for estimating the refractive status of such eyes. Methods: A retrospective review of the medical records, created between January 2016 and December 2018, of pediatric patients with aphakia was conducted. A vergence formula, based on axial length, was used to calculate the refractive status of the aphakic eyes. The refractive values determined using retinoscopy, an automatic refractometer, and the vergence formula were compared. Results: A total of 72 eyes (47 patients) were analyzed. The spherical equivalents of the refractive errors (mean ± standard deviation) of the eyes were determined using retinoscopy (13.01 ± 3.27 D), automatic refractometry (12.90 ± 3.23 D), and the vergence formula (12.70 ± 3.4 D). The correlation coefficient between retinoscopy values determined using retinoscopy and the vergence formula, automatic refractometry and the vergence formula, and retinoscopy and automatic refractometry were 0.968, 0.987, and 0.979, respectively. The Bland-Altman consistency analysis revealed that the mean differences in the spherical equivalent values between retinoscopy and automatic refractometry, retinoscopy and the vergence formula, and automatic refractometry and the vergence formula were 0.11 D, 0.31 D, and 0.21 D, respectively, with 95% limits of agreement of-1.20 to 1.41 D,-1.37 to 2.00 D, and-0.90 to 1.31 D, respectively. Conclusion: The vergence formula was effective for evaluating the refractive status of aphakic eyes in pediatric patients.

RESUMO

Arguments regarding the biocompatibility of graphene-based materials (GBMs) have never ceased. Particularly, the genotoxicity (e.g., DNA damage) of GBMs has been considered the greatest risk to healthy cells. Detailed genotoxicity studies of GBMs are necessary and essential. Herein, we present our recent studies on the genotoxicity of most widely used GBMs such as graphene oxide (GO) and the chemically reduced graphene oxide (RGO) toward human retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) cells. The genotoxicity of GO and RGOs against ARPE-19 (a typical RPE cell line) cells was investigated using the alkaline comet assay, the expression level of phosphorylated p53 determined via Western blots, and the release level of reactive oxygen species (ROS). Our results suggested that both GO and RGOs induced ROS-dependent DNA damage. However, the DNA damage was enhanced following the reduction of the saturated C-O bonds in GO, suggesting that surface oxygen-containing groups played essential roles in the reduced genotoxicity of graphene and had the potential possibility to reduce the toxicity of GBMs via chemical modification.

RESUMO

Herein, we describe the first example of copper-catalyzed oxidative thioamination of maleimides with secondary amines and Bunte salts with the achievement of C-N and C-S bonds in a single flask. The protocol showcases a prominently broad substrate scope and is also efficient for the late-stage modification of an array of pharmaceuticals. Preliminary mechanistic investigation indicates copper-catalyzed oxidative amination of maleimides with amines to form reactive enaminone and subsequent intermolecular alkenyl C-H thiolation.

RESUMO

In this study, we report a facilely hydrothermal process for synthesizing SnO2 nanorods-graphene (SnO2 nanorods-GR) composite using graphite oxide and SnCl4 as raw materials. The SnO2 nanorods-GR composite was characterized by X-ray diffraction, electron microscopy, Xray photoelectron spectroscopy, and thermogravimetric analysis. Compared to commercial TiO2 nanoparticles P25 and neat SnO2 nanorods, the SnO2 nanorods-GR composite exhibits higher photocatalytic activity under UV light irradiation. The mechanism of its high photocatalytic activity is mainly ascribed to the synergy effect between SnO2 and graphene, in which graphene acts as an adsorbent and electron acceptor due to its large structure of pi-pi conjugation from sp2 hybrid carbon atoms. The results demonstrated in this study provide a promising way to enhance the photocatalytic activity by compounding semiconductive nanocrystals with graphene.

RESUMO

Triacetone triperoxide (TATP) is one of the most sensitive known explosives and can be easily synthesized using the commonly available chemicals acetone and hydrogen peroxide, but is difficult to be detected. In this study, In(2)O(3) nanoparticles were synthesized by a glucose-assisted solvothermal method at 120 degrees C for 18 h. The gas sensor based on In(2)O(3) nanoparticles exhibits a high response, fast response and recovery, a wide detecting range of 0.50-500 mg, good stability and excellent stability to TATP.
